2006 NEW YEAR'S GREETINGS FROM OKINAWA, JAPAN!

It's a little late, but here's a short clip I put together for the Marines in my platoon to send to their family and friends back home.  Keep watching at the end... there's a little something extra at the end.

I was finally able to find an old video clip that I made for the Marines and their families during our last deployment to Ramadi, Iraq.  Unfortunately, their families weren't able to open the file, so they never got to see it.  It's never too late though.  Awesome clip!  Unfortunately, I can't find the original file.  I must have misplaced it during our return from Ramadi, Iraq last year.  I'm glad I uploaded it to Google Video when I did.  Too bad it's slow as heck.  Looks like VSocial is much better.  Hopefully, Google Video will improve soon.

"MERII KURISUMASU!"

For those who are not Japanese, that means MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I'll repeat what I posted on my other blog:

Enjoy the time you are able to spend with loved ones at home this holiday season and never forget the servicemen and servicewomen of all military branches who cannot be home with theirs.  From Ramadi, Iraq and Kabul, Afghanistan to the Marines of 2/5 currently in Okinawa, Japan... Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen are deployed throughout the world fighting to defend our freedom and the freedom of other countries! 

Take a moment to think about why we celebrate Christmas, as well. This day is in celebration of something very special that took place over 2,000 years ago, the birth of Jesus Christ, so with that, Ill say one more "Merii Kurisumasu!" or "Merry Christmas!"

Well, Christmas just isn't the same without family and loved ones, but we made the best of it... we did the next best thing... Bowling!  What do you expect?  Apparantly, you've never been on Camp Hansen.  There's really nothing else to do. 

To add to the Christmas Spirit, we went ahead and did the ole Secret Santa thing.  Since the guys were complaining about money... we made the minimum limit of $5 and maximum of $10.  Most of the guys went the typical PlayBoy Calendar or Liquor route and a few... and I mean a few... actually put a little effort in finding a good gift. 

I like mine!  It's actually pretty practical, a keychain.  It's got the Eagle, Globe and Anchor on it, so that was cool.

I sorta messed the whole "Secret" part right off the bat by yelling out the name I picked out as soon as I pulled it out the hat.  Don't ask why I did it... I still don't know either. 

Going back to the bowling alley... Sergeant Fields received a bottle of Crown Royal... surprise!  Before the Marines all left that night, the entire bottle was empty!  So much for drinking in moderation.
